Failure connection to database

I installed the oracle8i and developer6.0, and now i am malking connection to the database in devloper6.0 its giving me an error saying ORA:12050 TNS: cannot reslove service name. I tried millions of times but still unsuccessful. PLease help me out.

Ok -- shouldn't be a problem.

This message means the SQL*Net is not configured correctly on the machine you're trying to run Developer from. But it's easy to fix so not to worry.

You should have a program on that PC called "SQL Net Easy Configure" work your way through that and add your new server to it.
