This is driving me crazy! I have the following event happening approx. 4 times per second.
Event Type: Failure Audit
Event Source: Security
Event Category: Account Logon
Event ID: 677
Date: 3/12/2001
Time: 10:09:41 AM
User: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM
Computer: DC
Description:
Service Ticket Request Failed:
User Name: regularuser
User Domain: TEST.COM
Service Name: HOST/Workstation
Ticket Options: 0x40810010
Failure Code: 7
Client Address: ip address
For some reason Microsoft has no mention of this error and cannot find reference to it elsewhere.
It appears to be SQL related since the error only happens when people connected to SQL servers via SQL Enterprise Mgr. If they disconnect from server and re-add then they seem to be okay for a while but eventually the error starts up again. I suspect that it is related to Kerberos tickets expiring but cannot find any information
As a result I have been forced to turn off my "Account lockout policy".
Please help!
