Fails to create print queue 2

I'm running AIX 4.2 on an IBM RS6000 System 370 fitted with a 64 way concentrator. I would like to install print queues for various simple text printers but when I attempt this via smit I get the following error :

1800-106
0782-626 Opening the ODM class "sm_cmd_hdr" failed (odmerrno is 5910). Use local problem reporting procedures.

Can anyone help me with what's going on?

Have you upgraded from 3.2.5 to this level (4.2)? If so, you might want to check the following:

Frequent problem after upgrades from 3.2.5 to early AIX 4

cd /var/spool/lpd/pio/@local/smit
ls -la # are file lengths 0 ???

If they are then:

cp /usr/lib/objrepos/sm* /var/spool/lpd/pio/@local/smit

and then:

ls -la # the file lengths should be normal
