Failover problem

-Remedy ARS 4.03 on Windows NT
- Survive IT failover
- Oracle 8i

Upon failover, receive the following error in one of the MENU fields:
ARERR [306] Value does not fall within the limits specified for the field : (pattern - $MENU$) : Organization +

Same field in failover.

This error means that the field Organization+ in your schema has a validation on it requiring that the value filled in appears on the attached menu. Make sure that the contents of the Menu attached to this field are identical between your servers, or alternatively, remove the $MENU$ validation, as it is not uncommon for it to break in strange ways. Better to do a validation with a set fields.

Both menus are the same and have the same information in them. The problem may be that the menu on the failed over server is pointing to the wrong machine. So, still researching!!

I think the removal of $MENU$ validation may be an option.

You might try exporting that menu from the main server again and then checking the export by hand for server references.

Didn't even think about exporting!! Thanks and I'll let you know what I come up with.
