Failing to log onto SQL 7 server

Hi
I'm trying to log onto a SQL 7 server from another one.
I can only connect if I have logged in via the network first. I have loaded sp3 and verified that I'm authenticating through "sa" logon and not Win NT.
When I try to logon via a custom developed ordering system I again get an error back saying "sa" failed to login...
Any ideas. Please help

It is difficult to know without more detail about the login failure. I suspect that the app may be using sa to login but still be coded to use a trusted connection. If that is the case you need to change the connection attributes.

If that is not the problem, then it would be helpful to know the complete error message, the client software and the API uised to connect. ODBC? ADO? Terry L. Broadbent
