I have a 30 day eval copy of Arcserve 2000 and am attempting to backup an NT 4.0 Enterprise server that also has the Oracle backup agent installed. The backup is incomplete due to following errors:
AW0004 Failed to open file <c:\oracle\oradata\arcserve\control01.ctl>. RC=5, Access is denied.
AW0004 Failed to open file <c:\oracle\oradata\arcserve\control02.ctl>. RC=5, Access is denied.
E8601 Failed to connect agent. (AGENT=dbaora6@arcserve, EC=275).

CA tech support told me to install the Oracle agent using the Oracle "internal" as login with password "oracle". I still get the same errors.

Search for error code E8601 with RC=275 does not return any results (not even on the CA website).

Has anyone else encountered this problem?

I am also having the same issue. When you go to select the Oracle agent in the backup job, I get authentication errors. The client insists the username=superuser pass=passw0rd, but according to CA, and all the acquired web documentation, that is not the correct set. Computer Associates just sent in 2 engineers into my office Mon. 8/19/02 to help me resolve this issue. They were useless, but I was granted 5 free incidents with direct lines to 3rd level support. As soon as I get a bone, I will drop you a line if you are interested.
