Firstly, I apologize if this isn't the proper way to thank folks. I do IT work on the side and one of my clients recently had a failing physical Windows XP-based Aloha machine (not embedded, but a desktop XP machine running Aloha). I decided to virtualize it and run it with VMware Player on a new laptop that my client had purchased. It worked just fine for the most part, but I had some issues with networking that I couldn't figure out. Googling led me here, where a member gave instructions for using 'lanacfg' - they worked beautifully and got me a decent paycheck. Since then, I've been my client's "go-to" POS guy since I'm cheap and the vendor isn't (the system was well out of warranty and had no Aloha maintenance contract.) I've been called twice since then and each time I've solved the problem thanks to Tek-Tips folks. Thank you all very much for doing what you do!
The linked thread was similar to my most recent issue. Turns out that there was an EOD file on the BOH machine - getting rid of it fixed the issue.
