Faileding to renew IP in both XP and 98?!

I followed all the steps in the other messages here to no avail, I wanted to post a new topic because the other posts were just for XP or 2000. I am receiving a "access denied" error when I try to renew the IP on the 98 system, and a Failed to renew IP error when I try to repair XP. Please! Any help or any information at all to repair this please help! I have tried the vb program on both computers and it didn't work on either.

Are you connected to a router, using ICS, or how are you connected to your modem?

Thanks for posting, but the problem seemed to be the router, so luckily we had another one and it works fine
