I'll assume you're using NT. If not, then the idea is the same, but the instructions will be a little different for NetWare.
Try one of these: Option A
1)Launch the ASIT ServerAdmin(Start->Programs->ArcServeIT for Windows NT->ArcServeIT Server Admin)
2)Stop the Tape, Job, and Database engines by selecting each tab and clicking the Stop button (just a red box) on the toolbar.
3)Restart Engines
Option B
1)Launch the NT Services manager from the NT Control Panel (Start->Settings->Control Panel)
2)Stop the ArcServeIT Tape Engine, Job Engine, and Database Engine services
3)Restart the services
***NOTE***
Either of these two options may cause ArcServe to not function properly. One or more of the engines may not resume normally or you may not be able to perform certain tasks. If this is the case, you will need to re-boot the server to cause ArcServeIT to function normally again. Monkeylizard
