Yikes.
Never seen that one.
What version of apache and what does your config look like?

Hi,
That looks really strange.. However there does seem to be an 'OK' in the middle. As marsd say, need more info really. For example, does this happen during boot up or just when you do it manually. Are you on a redhat version which shows [OK] messages in green brackets when booting ? Or Suse which does something similar...

Have you looked at the message logs in the /var/log directory for error messages ?

Rgds

hi ifincham
i'm running redhat 7.1 and httpd starts ok at the boot up
but gives this error when i try to restart it manually

Maybe an issue with mult.child processes.
pidof httpd | xargs kill -hup, or run
strace against the apachectl restart for more
details.
