I have a Crystal-report built on a table returned from a stored procedure.
When running this report on database A it runs OK.
When running the same report on database B I get the message 'Failed to retrieve data from the database'. No vendor code or other message is returned.
I'm running the report as administrator on both database and same software and procedures are installed.
Using CrystalXIrdc.

Any tips on what to check is appriciated!

Its because report is still looking for DatabaseA. Go to
Database->Show SQL and you will see that.

To remove database name and make report portable go to
Database-> Set data source location

open up SP details by clicking (+) and then double click Overridden Qualified table name and then type in SP name as shown in Table name above.

Report will now work on DatabaseB

Thank you for quick answer.

I forgot to mention that we use a work-around for all our Crystal reports to make them database independent.

I have now tested the report on database C and it runs OK there.

Guess your test on DB C makes it clear that the problem lies with DB B, not the report.
