I am trying to run a report within Crystal Reports. When I connect to the database, I get a series of windows that states "The database file "x" has changed. Proceeding to fix up the report!". After clicking OK to all these,
an error message is displayed: Failed to open a rowset. ORA-01790: expression must have same datatype as corresponding expression.

I didnt create this report, Im just trying to open it - the author says it worked FINE before.

Any ideas? LMC cryerlisa@hotmail.com

You connected oracle via QUery or table? IF query is that the only query or you are using any UNION clause?

Two SELECTs can be combined into a compound query by a set operation*using UNION,UNION ALL..) only if they satisfy the following two conditions:

The result sets of both the queries must have the same number of columns.

The datatype of each column in the second result set must match the datatype of its corresponding column in the first result set.

Actually, this is off of tables - no queries.

I dont even know WHAT tables are in this report - I havent been able to open it yet to see...

I do believe the file must be corrupt?? Before I start re-drafting it (and gathering all new specs, etc etc) any other ideas as to why this would happen between tables??? LMC cryerlisa@hotmail.com
