Failed to open the connection - Preview from CMC

I create a report against a DSN connection using Crystal Reports 2008 and Crystal Reports XI Release 2. I am able to do a Verify Database and the hit F5 and the data is returned on the report as expected. I deploy the rpt file to the CMC, under Process tab\Database, I use the 'Use Custom database logon information specified here' option and I select the 'Use Same Database Logon as when report is run' option. When I go back to the Properties tab and click the Preview button, I receive Error: Failed to open the connection...

Is there a DSN on the machine running the CMC version and is it exactly the same as the one used in development?

What database and connection type is involved?
