Hello all,

I can't seem to get SQL 2005 to install correctly. I am running MS Win 2003 Server SP 2 in a mixed AD network, still have an older NT 4.0n server we are trying to get rid of. But when installing SQL 2005 AS or Reporting services I get the following error:

SQL Server Setup failed to modify security permissions on file C:\Progeam Files\Microsoft SQL Server\90\Shared\ASConfig\ for user XXXX. TO proceed, verify that the account and domain running SQL Server Setup exist, that account running SQL Server Setup has administrator privileges, and that exists on the destination drive.

I have admin rights and during the setup I use my username, PW and domain. I also tried using the local, but still get the same error.

Any ideas?

TIA

Is the server you're installing this on in the new domain or the NT domain?

The worst mistake you'll ever make is to do something simply the way you know how while ignoring the way it should be done[/sub]

It is in a mixed mode domain. So I guess its in the new domain, sorry don't quite understand your question.
