I have a VB6 application running on Windows 2000 which is my development PC. I have a report that I created in Crystal Reports 8.5 that I view from within the VB app and I also can export to word just fine. I used the package and deployment wizard to create the setup file for users on Windows 9X PCs and when they run the app it displays the report fine, but gives me the error "run-time error '-214790908(80047784)':Failed to export report" I have searched the user forums, knowledgebase, etc and have not found a solution. I think it may be a dll problem, but not sure. I have included several additional dlls in the package and deployment wizard and have also tried to copy them to the client PC and register them, but I always get an error from the register program. If anyone knows which dlls I need and how I can get them registered, I would greatly appreciate it. ( I hope that is the problem). Also, I have manually copied the dlls to the client PCs \windows\system directory and tried to register them.

Thanks in advance,
Tom

I've spent a lot of time sorting out a similar error.

You need ATL3.1 (ActiveX Template library) on your destination machine. If both are Win2k then the Unicode version of ATL.DLL (in winNT\System32) is fine.

If it is a Win95/98 destination machine you will need ATL.EXE from Microsoft to install the correct version of ATL. Email me and I can send you copy. Editor and Publisher of Crystal Clear

It ended up being the exportmodeller.dll and crtslv.dll that was causing a problem. I recently ran a database and export patch from Crystal which included these 2 files. When I searched for the files I found two different versions of each file in two different directories. I then copied the latest version of each file to the client PC and registered them. I hope this helps someone out because I know this was very frustrating for me for over a week and I had to finally call Crystal Reports tech support to get it resolved.
