We are currently on Microsoft course M2279, and have just come to use DCpromo to remove our Windows 2003 server from the current domain anj join it as a new Child domain. It is failing with the error of "Failed to create GPO in domain ... the system cannot find the file specified".
We have made sure to use domain admin rights; we have tried the windows 2000 fix of fixing the security database and deleting the logs but this has not helped.
At the point of failure we get ejected from the current domain and put in to a workgroup. The NTDS folder gets created, but not SYSVOL.
Does anyone have any ideas?
