Greetings,

Can a PRI be failed over at the CO level to ring on POTS lines terminated on VIC2- 2FXO card in 3825 router? In other words, if a site with 1 PRI has a circuit failure, will a Carrier FWD calls to POTS services for redundancy to the site? If so, what is the feature/service called e.g. VZ or ATT as the Telco?

Thank you,

Yes it can fail over to analog lines (1FBs) and AT&T offers that as a add-on service. You will need quite a few 1FBs to support a PRI and of course there will be no DID feature during the outage. You'll need to point the FXO ports to a DN.
As far as the name of the feature I don't know it. Your AT&T rep would be a good start.

Thank you whycap, when you mention "no DID", you mean all calls to the PRI span, regardless of DID will land on the analog lines - correct?

yes you will only be able to point the calls to a single DN, hunt group, etc. DID functionality will be lost until the PRI recovers.
