Fading from left to right

Does anybody know how to make a picture look like it is being faded in from left (completely transparent) to right (no trancperancy)

Create a mask. Create a fade from Black to white first and then make a Bitmap out of it. After that you copy the future mask object, hide it in the layer view, select the image and "paste as mask" (don't know the exact command anymore, will be in the "edit" menu).
