I'm trying to transition an image in by fading it (or increasing its opacity). How can I do this in Flash?

select the image... and make it into a "graphic" symbol by hitting the F8 key.

You can then select the symbol and change the alpha setting to whatever percentage you want in the effects panel.

For instance ...if you wanted to have an image fade in from 0 opacity to full opacity you would insert your symbol onto its own layer then move over a few frames and hit F6.

select the 1st frame your symbol is on and change the alpha setting to 0% in the effects panel.

right click on the series of frames your symbol is on and select "create motion tween".

test by hitting the play button on your controller toolbar. Ya' Gotta Love It!

Easy, after days trying to find that way...

Any image convert to symbol
You will see down there solid, change for alpha and you will get trasparency or opacity
