Hello, new member here. Sorry if this is a repeat question. Im working a lot of hours and came across a last minute auction that had 2 used Micros POS 5a work stations. I didn't have a lot of time to research before I bought. Anyway, I bought these for the family restaurant. They are using old manual cash registers. I do process control programming so I have moderate computer skills. I briefly powered up one of the units and it was asking for an employee ID. Also, it was saying something about not finding a server. I thought these were stand alone units? Will a factory reset clear all previous passwords?

Thanks,
Thomas

They will probably be running 3700. Can you see on the splash start up screen? Either way they will need a server of some sort, software on the server and licenses to run the software.

Yes, they boot up to the Windows screen. They have the simphony software but when I launch the program, it prompts me for an emoloyee Id.
