I'm having some difficulty with a used Nortel T7316 phone that I picked up. I can program some of the feature buttons, but some already have line assignments, etc. I tried copying the programming from another phone and it didn't work. Perhaps it would be best to reset the phone to factory default then copy the programming over of a known good phone. How do I perform a reset of a phone?

The easiest thing I do is to use "Feature" *0 to find out what is stored under each key.

Then I use "Feature" *3 and press the key I want to change (as long as it's not a line assigned key) and then press "Feature" followed by the code required such as *4 for a personal speed dial entry etc.

Use the "Feature" *0 to find out if the key has changed to the new function.

Thanks curlycode. I definitely don't want to leave anyone hanging. Is there a way to close the thread? I've posted a response, but couldn't find a way to close the thread.

I'm able to program some of the buttons. The issue is that on this phone the line assignments are in a different configuration (buttons on the personal speed dial) than the other phones. I want to be able to add personal speed dials to the right side and the line assignments to the left. I'm struggling to figure out how to remove the line assignments.

Line assignments will have to be changed via access onto the system via the Telset. You need to go to terminals and extensions and select the required extension and then go through the lines to change / remove / add any.

At the bottom of each Thread there is a reply....you can post anything you want such as thanks or the resolution that worked.

When you do a set copy you are given a choice of system or system and user....choose system and user to copy absolutely everything.
Or in Element Manger "User preferences" when Pasting

As for factory reset the digital phones do not have this option but you could select an unused DN (that has never been touched in programming before) and copy from that.

That set you have might be a T7316, not a T7326e. They both look exactly the same and are easily mistaken. The T7316 sets, for all practical purposes, is an M7310 and the programming of the buttons is odd to say the least. Have a look on the bottom of the set and make sure it's a T7316e you have.

Good call.

3 lines in this example:

T7316e
Line X____Button
Line X____Button
Line X____Button
Button____Button
Button____Button
Button____Button
Button____Button
Button____Button

T7316
Button____Button
Button____Button
Button____Button
Line X____Button
Line X____Button
Line X____Button
Button____Button
Button____Button

That's what I found as well. I was trying to copy the programming of a T7316E to the T7316 so obviously its a no go unfortunately. I guess I'll have to configure manually.

Thanks for your help.
