Facebook style photo tagging 1

I'm not sure where to go with this, but I'll try this forum.

I want to be able to scan a group photo with the mouse and have names pop up like the tags in Facebook. I do not want or need an embedded link, just a text label that will appear then disappear as the mouse moves from face to face.

Can someone point me in the right direction, please?

did some googling and it would appear that you cannot using the title attribute.
you'll have to use css and faux tooltips
