FAC - for the SDX INDEX

hello I'm trying to get an audio conf unit working on a SDX INDEX can get a dial tone and works fine as a handset. However I want to be able to initiate conference calls from the Audio unit rather than create conference calls from DT handsets and transfer the conf call to the conf unit. I've heard that there is a FAC for conference on the INDEX has anyone else heard of it or am I chasing the holy grail??? Thanks all.

I've never heard of any way to initiate a conference call from any analogue extension, which is essentially what the Audio- Conf unit is. If you have been considering upgrading to IP Office then you could use its powerful conferencing facilities.

a) if you have a pc in this room then you can control the conference with Phone Manager.

b) You can organise a conference dial in where you offer each external party a conference bridge number (ddi number), for them to dial in on and then provide them with a pin to access your conference.

There's many other features which persuades many to upgrade but if conferencing is the only feature you need it's an expensive upgrade.

Thanks gerrad, I'm don't think an upgrade is a viable option. I can initiate conf calls on the alog conf unit from definity systems but haven't cracked the INDEX yet. I seem to remember doing it before using a FAC but can't remember what the FAC is.

You can upgrade the INDeX to release 11 and install a PRI-30MF card.
Then you have a 64 party conference bridge with external access and PIN checking like the IP Office offers without the need of a Voice Manager.
