F989 Disconnecting Calls

We recently installed a BCM50 with a PRI T1. We have changed COS1 in the voice mail to allow recording. Whenever we press F989 to activate the call recording, it disconnects the call. Am I using the wrong feature code? All my documents indicate that F989 is the code to use.

Any feedback would be appreciated.
 
That's the right feature code.

Is there a mailbox built and initialized against the phone you're trying to record from?
 
The mailbox is built and initialized. We can transfer callers into the voice mail and they can leave messages.
 
Only thing that comes to mind would be autohold, but I don't know if that's invoked when doing a call record. If you can do a F986 and transfer a caller directly to voicemail, then autohold is enabled.

Might be worth a shot to check if autohold is turned on (under the set in question, capabilities and preferences). It defaults to on, so I don't think thats the answer.
 
Make sure the set has 2 intercoms. I suspect it does since you can transfer calls to voicemail.
 
You have to dial a number before it will work. If your on a line with dialtone before anything is dialed it will disconnect.
 
I adjusted the programming on the set so that there were 2 and also 3 intercom buttons. Still, when we made a call, waited for the call to connect, then pressed F989, the call disconnected. Also made the target line on the set public from private. None of the changes has had any effect. Call still disconnects when pressing F989.

Any more thoughts?
 
Have you tried installing Service Patch 2? There is some voicemail updates included in that patch.
 
Is this feature enabled in the mailbox COS?
It is disabled by default.
