I have a T7316e telephone for the receptionist/4 I/C buttons and a T24 KLM with everyones extensions on it programmed as auto-dial keys. Is it for the receptionist to take an incoming call hit the f986 button, press the auto-dial key and be transfered to the individuals mailbox? I've tried it multiple times and it doesn't work. F986 and manually dialing the extension does work however.

I kind of knew that but the customer wants to see it in writing because "Thats not acceptable", is there a work around so she doesn't have to press soo many buttons? Which is acutally the problem..

The Vmail wants DTMF and an Internal Autodial does not supply it.

I am sorry but your lady has to dial the ext number and the autodial dos not work on F986.

If you notice when you do a transfer using the transfer button or soft key it asks transfer to: this is looking for an extention (internal phone) number. When F986 is pressed it is looking for a MAILBOX: not a phone and the autodials are phones not mail boxes. So to get it to transfer to MB's you have to enter the MB number. Now the easy way or lazy way is to just do a blind phone transfer to the phone and it will ring the 4 times and drop into the mailbox. That way the recept can just use the autodials either way.

Put F986 under a button. Then the recep pushes only two buttons. 1) VM xfer, 2) Auti dial button and the call is transferred to VM.

Boomarang we just said you cant send a call to vmail via auto dial.

Anyway the user needs to learn to use F984 at their set when they step away for lunch etc....or have somebody go to their set and do it if they call in sick.

i agree with curlycord the f984 is not used enough but you do have to make sure that the people using f984 do not have outside lines ringing on there sets, otherwise new callers will go directly into there mailbox and not the main greeting/or reception

i wish nortel would figure a way to tell the difference between internal and external calls ,,,,as far as fwding is concerned

My guess is that the customer had a previous phone system that would allow her to do this. I know there are plenty of other key and PBX systems that do this. Now she has to learn eveyones ext #. This is one, on a short list of features, I wish Nortel would do.... Along with phantom exts. I hate to have to use analog exts to have an ext do something w/o a phone plugged in. And the "keep dn alive" feature is really a joke.
