I have an F9600 MS system with what appears to be a questionable (at best) hard drive. Was asked to make a minor MAC edit to a station and discovered (via DIS SYSS) that FM00 was showing "Trouble." I was able to RES IO,FM00 which the system accepted and now it's showing status of "Unloaded." Of course, there's no recent backup. My plan is to try to reinstall the Base Load software. If that works I should be able to SAV CCD to get the programmable data base back on the HD (after which we do a backup!). If the Base Load won't go back on the HD, we'll probably have to replace it. Of course we'll be praying for now power glitches in the building (although the PBX is on a full UPS system with generator backup). If we end up replacing the HD, I would guess that LOA FILE (for the base load) followed by SAV CCD would be the path to recovery.

Does the above sound like the correct approach to resolve this situation?

as an added step after loa file of the baseload, cop cd using the first disk of the baseload, this will take about 30-40 minutes but will ensure that all software is installed. after that do sav ccd. Dont forget to do a bac file.

good luck.

As I suspected, the HD is dead. Base load won't go in at all. Turns out the switch is a VS not an MS. Was able to figure that out after I saw a couple of photos (short cabinet and the HD is at the bottom of the cabinet and not on the controller board in the shelf). Also part number on the base load disk is consistent with VS. I've located a replacement HD.

With the above said, the maintenance manuals I have are for the don't address the VS. Anyone have the step-by-step HD replacement instructions for an F9600VS? Also, anyone know of a Fujitsu certified (at least qualified) maintenance vendor in the Portland, Oregon, area?

Altura doesn't have an office in Portland any more. They referred me to a company out of Tacoma, WA. At their rates, portal to portal, I could fly there from Minneapolis and do it myself. I'm not disputing their rates but I'd like to avoid paying for 4 hours of driving time each way if I can.

Still need the step-by-step HD replacement instructions for an F9600VS.

I have located the replacement procedure for an F9600VS.

Does anyone know of a qualified technician who knows the F9600 in the Portland, Oregon, area??

Not in Portland, but if you have a warm pair of hands there is a company out of Phoenix that supports hundreds of Fujitsus nationwide. Koss Communications 888-321-5677
