F9600 Number of rings before DA goes to VM on a single station

Using EMML, how do I change the number of rings of a single station? I've been sifting through the Features Controlled by COS, especially 363/365 and 459-462. Or is it a SVP?

Had Altura do this once but we lost it in a power outage and they had not done a SAV CCD.

I rarely get requests for this, but have a few that have mounted up.
Library and Kitchen wants their increased. Now typically 4 rings, one wants 6 and the other doubled to 8 rings.

Globally, you can have four different "ring-interval-before-forwarding" values established in the switch. You can assign any one of the four to any station by including the appropriate feature code (459, 460, 461, or 462) to the station's COS list. The VALUES of the timings are set by TYPE-1 service parameters (73, 150, 151, or 152 respectively).

Do you have a Commands Manual, or do you need the exact format of the commands to issue?

So, I was somewhat on the right track. If I understand you correctly, a station is assigned to a COS, in this case 5. So changing any one of the FNOs, for COS 5, changes it on all stations that have been assigned to COS 5. There is not a direct way to just change the number of rings on a single station; but there are 64 possible combinations (in our case, it appears we are using 0-6 and 11.

But I did notice that the DIS COS had an * for COS 11 for FNO 459 and 460.

This does not make sense. Do you suppose it is an error. COS 5 has no * for these FNOs and COS 11 has two.

I did look up the SVPs, and will probably change those:
73 - 20s
150 - 20s
151 - 12s
152 - 12s

Thanks for you help! I think I'm OK with the commands; I just needed a reality check, and to make sure I'm wandering in the right direction.

Without studying all the FNOs, I'm reluctant to create a new COS just for this, but am very curious what to expect from what I assume are errors.

I'll get back to you more on this later, as we have F9600 at 10 locations, and the DIS COS may be different for the school I am trying to help right now.

Any station can be assigned "System Forwarding" capability regardless of what features are included in its COS. You use the normal "ASS FWD" commands in EMML to do this. Feature codes 363, 365, etc. have to do with access to additional call forwarding features which can be registered/unregistered dynamically from the phone set itself. When available, the COS enabled features will override System Forwarding.

The "don't answer" timing values apply to BOTH "System" and "Station" forwarding. There are four timing options available controlled by the four SVPs described earlier. If NONE of the four corresponding feature codes are assigned to a station's COS, "Time-1" applies. If multiple features are assigned to a COS, the LOWEST numbered feature applies.

You can find a detailed description of all forwarding features in the FDM manual (For system forwarding, see Sect-2 under "System Forwarding." For station forwarding, see Sect-4 under "Call Forwarding.")

OK. I studied the current COS and FNO and decided to create a COS 13 that was identical to 3 except assigning FNO 462 to 13 instead of 460.

CHA SVP,1,152,40 (Changed time to 40 seconds)
ASS COS,0,70,13
ASS COS,0,21,13
...
ASS COS,0,462,13
...
until all FNO assigned to COS 13

CHA SLT,,5329,,,,,13

Tested. Rings 10 times.

Please issue the following command and post the results here:
DIS COSF,,13

(Also, the COSF command is sometime useful when building a new "Class." It allows you to add/remove multiple features (up to 14) from a specific COS with a single command. It's a lot faster than issuing an individual command for each feature.)

I couldn't find the syntax for COSF, such as DEL, ASS, MOD. It would be helpful too as you said.

Available commands for COSF are:
CHA COSF,[TNN:0],COS,FLAG,FNO,[FNO],....,[FNO]
DIS COSF,[TNN:0],[SCOS],[ECOS],[DNO],[FNM]

There are no DEL, ASS, or MOD commands for COSF. These should be in your "Commands" manual if you have one.
