I have a NAM V4.0.04C. I see in the manual about programming using F915 and the ACCESS password but when I enter F915 I get Inactive Feature. What am I missing? F983 and others work normally. Thanks.

F915 NORSTAR VOICE MAIL 2ND LEVEL ACCESS (PSWD=ACCESS2)
Try F9*1 to check feature codes for voicemail.
Try F**XFTEST to see if the Feature codes are there.
Good Luck!

Thanks, F919 worked.
Executone? thats what I'm removing to install the Norstar! :)

I have installed both. I like the Norstar for small system, besides Inter-Tel discontinued the Executone IDS product line. The replaced the IDS with the EclipseII system. You will like the Norstar it is very reliable and dependable system. Good Luck!!

I hope the person you bought this NAM from didn't tell you it was new.....

F915 is the default maintenance code when the system is new, if you take the NAM and put it on a different KSU it bumps the maint code up to F916, if you hook it to another, F917, etc. With your maint code being at 919, its a tell-tale sign that the NAM has been connected to 5 unique KSU's.

Another obvious sign of age is if the cabinet says "NORTEL"
on the front in black letters, or "Meridian" on top of a green stripe. They stopped manufacturing the green stripe about 5 years ago. A lot of brokers upgrade the software on these boxes and try to pass them off as new.

I see a lot of this lately. There is nothing wrong with selling a customer used equipment, as long as you tell the customer it is used. I've lost count of the people I've ran across that was told their system was new, when in fact, in most cases it was several years old when they got it. These people pulling this crap should be flogged.

I have seen codes as high as F979, it wasn't new but I also know it wasn't run on that many unique KSUs to increase the code to 979. I've also seen the code change when increasing the channels on a NAM. I would like to know more about F915 if anyone can share it.

Thanks darnold@americaii.com

Everything looks "new" including the box and it was sold to us as new. The cabinet door has Nortel on the bottom and Norstar on the top just like the MICS door.
The vendor now tells me I need to install a "patch" from Nortel in the NAM, you know anything about this?
Thanks.
