F9 doesn't update.

I now have 3 new PC's with Lotus Notes 8.5.1 that doesn't update the current view, when pressing F9. It updates fine when you press the "refresh" button on the tool line. I can't see any settings that could disable this feature and the application was installed with standard setup.
Could it be some BIOS setting or something else in windows (it's on both XP and Vista)?

F9 should refresh, but F5 is now recommended (yep, it no longer locks the client). Does F5 work?

I've got a stepladder. It's nice, but I wish I knew my real ladder.
