We have a 400 we are now maintaining (we have about 40 now). Also changing the IP scheme for quite a few branches. A data tech has changed several successfully but when he tries to do this one, he gets the inactive feature response. He has never been able to get in with a crossover cable on any of them. He is 50 miles away and I am 200 miles away from the site.
thanks

That only works on the BCM 50 and 450 not sure on the 400 4.0 but if it is 3.7 or below it wont work.
To connect to the 10.10.11.1 on the 3.7 or below you need to change your PC to 11.2 and the 50 and 450 it should give you an IP address but if not do the same thing.

Thanks, it is a 400. We are working on why he cannot go in with a crossover using the 11.1 and 11.2.

Can you get in via the serial connection? If so, check the ip address for both LAN ports. On the 400 you can change the default 10.10.11.X to whatever you want. Sounds like that could be the problem. Or, your hard drive could be toast and no one knows yet.

FYI - He had to connect via telnet. After he changed it I was able to get in remotely through the explorer. He had to lower his CSA to be able to stay in long enough (for others who are loaded down with security).
Thanks
