Just a guess. This sounds like hold notification. Does it start immediately, or after 30 seconds or so? When you pick up your handset, do you get an outside line by default? If so, you may accidently be putting an outside line on hold. All in all, I doubt it, but it's worth checking.

According to the Coordinator Guide, the only way to turn off the beeping is to mute the microphone. Kind of defeats the purpose of Voice Call, doesn't it.

the beep tone is normal. It is supposed to let people know you are listening to them. privacy stuff...

Well, all I can suggest is for everyone to set this up on your lab system or next time you are in a customer site to do a voice call. It dosn't matter software version or system size because they all do it. This is a very basic feature that has been around since norstar was first produced and the operation hasn't changed.![[smile]](/data/assets/smilies/smile.gif "[smile] [smile]")
That's actually some good info. Yeah I did an install about 2 weeks ago, I was showing the customerthe voicecall feature and sure enough after about 15 seconds or so I heard the 1st beep, kinda weird I've worked on Norstars for awhile now and never heard these beeps. You learn something new every day!
yes, this tone always occurs, so you can't "monitor a room". it usually plays after like 20 seconds.
I like this feature but hate the term "voice call"? I call it "direct page", it makes more sense to me.
