F5 Key Not Bringing Up Next Available Customer Number 1

When someone entering a new customer presses the F5 key, it is not returning the next number in sequence as it should. It is skipping ahead a few or several numbers. How can this be corrected to again automatically return the very next number.

I cannot recreate this error, but it sure sounds like a bug to me. Have you reported this to your Macola reseller?

My thought is that someone had manually entered a customer number. The system then tried to go past that number to another open number. I haven't seen any issues with my clients running 7.6.200.

I would reset the number in the AR control file to a number ahead of what you're using now and have them watch it more closely.

It just started occuring last week after running for ~10 months under this version, and 4+ years in earlier versions. I have contacted our reseller, but they are not in the office this week.

I like Kevin's idea. Query the ARCUSFIL and get the maximum cust_no value. Then compare it to the next custoemt no in AR Setup. Let us know which is higher.

I reset the value in AR Setup and everything is fine. I got sales to admit that the new guy had entered a new customer by manually entering the customer number instead of using the F5 key. I fixed the next customer number value, and it's working fine now.
