I installed Adobe Photoshop 6 and Illustrator 10 on my Windows XP machine. Everything seems to be fine except when I click on the "HELP" menu or "F1". Nothing happens. I looked in my installed directory for both and the html files are there and I can read help if I double click "help.html". So it will work manually. My browser is IE 6 of course and yes, it is the default browser.
The Adobe forum couldn't figure it out and neither can the techs.
When you pay $1,000.00 for a graphics suite, you'd think that a simple command of "help" on the menu wouldn't be a problem.
I hope somebody here can come up with something.
Thanks.

Its gotta be an XP thange cause that doesnt happen on my 2K box. Check your keyboard shortcuts in the edit menu for illustrator and make sure Illustrator Help... had F1 assigned to it. Dont know if this has anything to do with it but check you Helpers->Preview In folder and make sure there is a shortcut to your browser in there.
Could be some security thing in XP or IE 6 that wont let the browser be launched externally, dont really know.

Try uninstalling the program the re-installing it, there could have been an install error.

The best way to uninstall is CONTROL PANEL-ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS

Try it out, it might just be that simple

I HAVE uninstalled and reinstalled. Three times. Still the same. Like I said. even the techs can't figure it out.
The one that DOES come up with the right answer will definetly be the "Guru" of the year.
