extracting multiple files from sharepoint

In the interest of saving a lot of time I have a need to extract multiple files from sharepoint at the same time vs. going in and extracting / viewing them one at a time & saving them. I have been unable to track down a method of doing this so any guidance / suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Did you try using Actions > Open in Windows Explorer on the document library?

Also, there is a tool on codeplex called SharePoint Manager 2007.

This doesn't necessarily let you do a bulk extract, but you can browse to a doc library and right click > download on each item. It's still a manual process, but it might be a little bit easier.
