Extracting Lists to Excel

Hi all,

Hoping you can assist please.

When transferring my SP list to Excel I'm facing a few issues:

- My look up column is not transferring over
- All the bullet points etc i have in rich text editor boxes do not transfer over

Also,
- Is there any way for calculated fields to still show when editing an item?
- Is there any way to 'lock' certain fields in a list item?

You are hitting many of the basic problems with the export to spreadsheet feature.

Have you tried just copying from Data View and pasting into Excel? The lookup values will then go a cross.

I haven't tried that because I basically use the export the spreadsheet feature to do v look ups to drive reporting from the items in my list so need to do it this way.

So I assume there is no way round it then?

My biggest bug is the bullet points. I have seen in some cases the bullets have transfered nicely but this must be in the way they were pasted into the rich text box.
