Extracting from a HYYMDS field

I'm trying to extract the day, month and year from a HYYMDS field (from Oracle).

But the normal Date functions don't see to work. Is there a different way to handle this type?

Yes, there is a different way to handle H-format dates.
To extract a component from an H format date in numeric format, use HPART. The various functions that operate on H-format dates begin with H (curiously enough).

If you only ever want the day, month and year from this field then you can change the format in the mfd.

From

HYYMDS,HYYMDS

to

DMYY,DATE
