Can anyone suggest an easy way to extract data from a Delphi database to csv or access.

I am nor a Delphi programmer but I'm converting a Delphi application to run on the web with SQL Server and need to get the data from the old application.

It is also possible to see the Database Structure in a Dephi application. We do not have the Borland development tools.

Delphi (Turbo pascal) gives the programmer the tools to build his own data type, which can be filed in text files, or binary files. If the data is in a ascii file, it must be easy extract, other wise only the source can show you how to extract the data. Check for some files with the "original" extension .dat or .dta and see of you can load them in notepad or similar.

In most cases we (delphi programmers) do not re-invent the wheel and for database applications you take an existing database (paradox, access, dbase, oracle, interbase) and make a front-end application that interacts with the data.
Check if the Borland Database Engine (BDE) administrator is installed on the computer with the application and check the aliases defined. If it is a "normal" database type, you will find informations like type and where installed.

The system seems to be using .mbd files (not mdb). Do you know what database application uses .mbd?

No, what did you find in the BDE administrator? S. van Els
