Extracting data from Excel Using PHP

Hello to all, I've had a lot of success with getting help from the forum, and I've come to another problem.

Does anybody have an idea of how I would go about extracting data from a MS Excel document and putting it into a Mysql database using PHP. The putting into mysql I can handle, it's the extraction that I don't know how to proceed with.

Any help would be appreciated.
