Does anyone out there have any experience that may help me here?

I am currently using the ODBC driver to connect to a Pick System which is rather slow and would really like to find another way to get the data out. The target database is SQL Server 2005.

Any help would be appreciated.

If you can export out of Pick into a fixed length or delimited file, you can use SQL Server's bcp batch command or it's DTS (Data Transformation Services) to load.

Are you using locally processed SQL statements? In that case all data is transferred to your client and processed there. In that case, you might switch to pass-through queries where the SQL statement is passed on to SQL-server and processed. Then you only get the result set back.
