Hi

clearly a silly question but I have a table that contains user records in particular their email addresses.

I need to "extract" these in a format enabling me to send newsletters.

Could do with a hint as to how to approach the export.

The mailing software can handle dbf, txt, xls etc

thanks

Ian

How is the table set, field types?

Is the Email in its own field?

what DB engine?

If the email program can read a txt file, PHP can surely create one for it.

Using fopen, and fwrite.

Hi

thanks, sorry to be so vague, I'm using mysql and in the table there is a field for email and name.

I'll look at fopen and fwrite

thanks

Ian

Here you go:

Use it with fwrite, to write the emails into the file, in the format the mailing software expects.

Then you can have the emailing program read the created file.
