Extract calculated cells?? How?

Hi y'all

I was wondering if anyone out there could help me or direct me to a site that would have information on the following:

I want to be able to update and extract calculated cells from an html file. i.e I want to be able to send data to an excel workbook on my ftp site and extract new values based on the sent data from it without opening the actual workbook. Is this possible? (maybe there is an easier way suggestions would be great!? - the main reason for this is security as someone could download the my excel model and use the sheet themselves as excels security is a joke as you know)
