Recently I came across a program that had extra buttons in the title bar (to minimize to the system tray, and to bring up options). I found this very handy when working with this particular program, and would like to incorporate it into my own. Does anyone know how to add buttons to the title bar? Your help would be much appreciated,

I haven't tried it but you might want to use the bisystemMenu. See . I don't know if this is what you are looking for or not. James P. Cottingham

No, it isn't. That is for a tool tray, like the object inspector. I'm looking to add another button to the title bar of a Main Form. My question is identical to hennep's minimize to systray button question. I posted this form before I saw it Cyprus

My mistake. I have a couple of options that might work but probably aren't what you are looking for. One option is to get the book Borland C++ Builder How-To:The Definitive C++ Builder Problem-Solver by John Miano, Tom Cabanski, and Harold Howe. (The latter runs the web site I originally directed you to.) This book includes a CD-ROM, on the CD includes a Delphi control that allows you to add buttons to the caption bar. This book is a gold mine of valuable information. Worth the cost.

The other thing you can do is go to , then to the Buttons link and get the Caption Button component. I can't vouch for how well it works but you might be able to use it or see how it is made. James P. Cottingham

Thank you, I own the 'C++ Builder How-To' Book, and went to my workplace to check it out, only to find that it had mysterously disappeared and no one seems to know where.
In the codecorner.com place, there is a link to UtilMind Solutions Shareware component. I tried out the Component, it's exactly what I wanted, it just costs money to buy component, source, license, etc. I can't afford it, I'm a student, I can barely shell out $5 for lunch.
Do you know of any links to sites with *free* source for this, or does anyone have source? Maybe point me in the direction of a website with something related to this on it...I've tried every site I know, and found nothing. Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

Thanks, Cyprus

Cyprus,

I found out how to create a button in the title bar, but I cannot get the click event to work.
Can I drop a (5 kb) zip file somewhere so you can have a look at it ?

hennep, if you don't mind could I have a copy of it too? For I too want an extra icon, but that's not so important at this moment...
if it's not to much effort for you, could you send it to: mgb_svea@hotmail.com? My codes look like something a kid wrote
I have absolutely no idea what I am talking about
Somehow I still manage to make it work

"Yes I can" was an answer to my own question: "Can I drop it somewhere"
And yes you can have a copy too, If you're not able to download it, let me know.

Thank you so much! If this works, your a lifesaver! My e-mail address is: matth@usiw.net

Thanks for taking the time to get that! Cyprus

hennep, What is your e-mai address? I lost it due to a crash in Outlook. You can E-Mail it to me, if you don't want to disclose it publicly. I have a few questions, thoughts and revisions dealing with your code. By the way, very nice job setting it up! I think if we can gather our thoughts, and compare notes, we can finish up the code quite nicely. Cyprus
