Hello,

Another issue here: From time to time I can see different extension numbers in different hunt groups are marked with the star before the number. Of course, those extensions won't ring becase of this. Deleting and re-adding the same extension numbers will help until the next time. What it could be? Obviously, the IP Office is doing this marking, but why?

Thanks for your help,

Oleg

These users logged themselves out of the group.
Rightclick on such a user and activate the user.

Is there a way to overide it so they won't be able to log off the group?

Thanks,

Oleg

I opend up the phone,s DT 2050 and disabled the group button. Also removed the shortcode.
Worked for me.

It's the "phone manager 'del' key issue". Basically, users are disabling themselves from the hunt groups (hence the *).

Here are three fixes:

1) Right click them and select 'enable' - this puts them back in group and removes the * (you will need to merge the config back of course).

2) Create a shortcode with feature "Hunt Group Enable" (not recommended if you have quite a few hunt groups).

3) Delete the 'del' key mapping from Phone Manager (recommended way).

Hope that helps :)

Also depends on you software level and the version of Phone Manager (if they are using it) One version of PM would log users out of groups if the user implemented a call diversion via phone manager. The later versions of phone manager that ship with 2.1.24 fixed the problem.
Caused me a lot of grief with one particular customer.

True Dave - but PM 2.1.8 still has the 'del' problem (I think 2.1.10 fixed it).

From Avaya
Release Date: 28th February 2005

Global Technical Tip Number 53 - 'Clarification on Users being disabled from Hunt Groups when using Phone Manager'

Clarification on Users being disabled from Hunt Groups when
using Phone Manager
It has come to our attention that it was stated in IP Office Technical Bulletin 26 that Avaya had fixed an issue where:'Users are no longer disabled from a group when Phone Manager Preferences are edited'
This information is incorrect; a fix for this issue in phone Manager has not yet been implemented.
A new 2.1 User CD will be made available as part of the scheduled maintenance software release currently planned for March 2005.

Thank you all for your help. I really appreciate it...

PM V2.1.10 is available as a patch (replacement for the phonemanager exe) which does reolve the hunt group problem
if your distributor cant supply it I have it on my public ftp server

FTP:IPGURU.NO-IP.INFO

Please remember to say thanks if you find this server usefull otherwise I may decide to reuse the hardware.

Thanks, IPGuru. What login I should use to get there?

Oleg

Anonymous log in will suffice for my public section.

It contains most released versions of IPO firmware & other usefull items that I got fed up hunting around avayas site to find.
It does not contain full copies of the avaya CD's because I only have a 256K uplink

Star given :)
