Have a customer with THREE BCM400 systems each running version 4. They are all patched up to date, and they are using Lan Cte integrated with a third party database.
On one of the switches, they report that the odd extn will randomly dial numbers without any interaction from the end users. The PC running the Lan Cte is powered down, and they assure me that the end user is not touching the handset at all. Everytime I log in to monitor the system, all appears ok.
The only thing I can think of is that a majority of the handsets on the BCM giving the issue are old M series, manufactured in 2000.

Does anyone feel that the handsets could be at fault here?

Any pointers appreciated.

Could be a pc associated with the wrong extn Lan cte. when using outlook or PCM to dial from there pc it picks up the wrong phone!!!!.

Does the customer see the phone actually dialing.
Is it more than one extn or the same extn or extns all the time.

They reckon that the end user is sitting there and the phone goes off hook and dials. Over the past 3 weeks, it has been 3 different extns.

Good point on the PC setup, I will get them to verify that the application they are using is correct. On their screen, the third party application lists their extn number on the PC, so I will get them to verify that.

I will update on this after speaking to them
