Hi,

I have an external 250 ZIP Parallel Port Drive, which a few weeks ago was working just fine.

Now I cannot get any power and I have a disk in there. Tried changing the fuse but no difference.

How would I get hold of a new power lead to see if that's the problem ? I notice it's in two parts, so perhaps I could try just replacing the end with the plug on in case the problem's there ? The end that plugs into the box (transformer?) looks very similar to the one I use on my radio/cassette player, but not sure if the voltage would be the same.

Can you help me?

Regards,
Jay/UK

I don't think you can substitute a different power transformer for the Zip drive.

My external Zip drives have a small hole in the back end of the case that you can insert a straightened large paper clip in to release the disk.

Should have a voltage and current rating on the brick. If you can find another one with the same rating, and the same connection method, and the same size plug you can use it. But be very careful to check out the polarity on the plug if it is a DC supply.
