External trust/dns problem

I have 2 forests, Forest A is a win server 2008 r2 forest and 1 dc (dca1) , Forest B is a win server 2003 forest and 1 dc (dcb2).
My goal is to migrate everything from forest B to forest A. In the mean time I need servers/computers/shares from ForestA accessable to Forest B ( I assume a one way trust).
I am a newb at doing this, fresh out of classes and so far it's not going as easily as it did in class. I am unable to get dns zone up and going on forest A. I can get Forest B to see dns on A. All of it is on the same subnet (192.168.10.x). Since I can't get the two talking with dns, I can't create the trust either. I could use some help, If I can get the dns working the trusts shouldn't be a problem. Would someone be able to give me some help?

Have you added forwarders to each of the domains in the respective DNS servers (ie DNS domain/server info for Domain A on Domain Bs DNS servers and vice versa). This is one of the pre-reqs to setting up a trust.
Also trusts are still reliant on NetBIOS for them to work properly so make sure that NetBIOS over IP is still enabled (not sure if this is still required on Win2K8).
Also make sure that server based firewalls are not blocking the requisite traffic even though they are on the same subnet
