External transfer from Auto Attendant

Is it possible to transfer to an external number from a touch-tone in an Auto Attendant? I can't seem to find out how (short of call forwarding an extension and transfering to that from the Auto Attendant touch-tone). Is this basic feature missing, or am I missing something?!

It is possible if the user group has trunk to trunk transfer authorized.
 
There isn't a way to put an external number in the AA but you can point the AA touch tone to point to a Work Group that is forwarded external. That way you don't have to use up an user extension license to get the forward.
 
I had to go look again because it seems so easy. If you have a AA box and you want the caller to be transferred outside the site, setup a route point. You can make it a dial by number, or any of the other options like time out destination.
