I'm setting up my first clustered environment. I have 2 Dell Poweredge 2500 servers both connected to a Dell PowerVault 221S with 3 disks configured for Raid 5. I have clustering installed on both nodes and everything seems find except this: In My Computer and Explorer I can only "touch" those disks through the node that was powered up first. For example, if I power up Node 1 and then power up Node 2, I can only see the drives using Explorer or My Computer on Node 1. If I power up Node 2 first the drives are visible on Node 2's My Computer icon or Explorer. I can't figure out if this is by design, or if I've possible got a SCSI terminated incorrectly. Can someone tell me how it's supposed to look? I can see the drive configuration in Dell's Array Manager on both Nodes, just can't write to the external storage from both nodes - only the one that was powered up first.

That's correct behavior :)

Platform SDK: Windows Clustering
Cluster Disk Driver
Each node in the cluster runs an instance of the Cluster Disk Driver, Clusdisk.sys. The Cluster Disk Driver is responsible for ensuring that only one node at a time can access a cluster disk.

Best regards
