Hi all,
I'm trying to connect an external ringer for a M7208 in a noisy plant. The dry contact port is already used on the MICS. In fact there was a couple of these connected before apparantly, but I don't know how. I think it had to do with the headset port?
Thank's

Thank's Marv,
The problem is that the customer would like a few of these connected. They used to have them connected to M7208 & M7310's. When they moved stuff around the only thing left was a cord comming out of the headset jack on the bottom of the set & I'm not sure how it was connected.
Another problem is that they don't have enough ext. left on the system. And of course, it worked that way before & they want it to work the same way again. I don't think they want to expand the system to get the same thing they had.
What a pain in the a**.

Jon

By the way, on a M7100 set, is it a page port ring or a dry contact connection? I've never had to connect more than one ringer so I just use the system port for external ring in other cases.

The cord that was coming out of the headset jack should be connected to the talk pair going to a valcom speaker & if you have power going to the speaker it will act as a loud ringer when that set rings.
