Hello,

I have created an external relay in our exchange 2010 server, which sends to one of our linux boxes which has postfix installed. What I want to achieve is to only allow some external emails(with different domain names) to be able to send to this external relay, or this external relay will only accept emails from this emails. Is this possible?

Not sure I understand the objective. Are you saying that you want emails sent to some specific external domains to be sent to the Postfix box? If that's so, create a send connector that contains those domains, and configure it to send to the Postfix box (as a smarthost). If that's not what you're after, please clarify, and I'll be happy to help.

Plan for performance, and capacity takes care of itself. Plan for capacity, and suffer poor performance.

yes I already have a send connector that sends to the postfix box, which actually has a fax server there, which transforms the emails into a fax and sends to the specific number. What I want is to only allow a couple of emails addresses to be able to send emails to that subdomain, fax.mydomain.com.
At the moment every email address can send an email to that subdomain which then sends a fax. I hope I did explain better now.

All fax servers that I've ever come across have some security or user management of their own to stop unauthorised people sending faxes.

Yours doesn't have this?

this one does not have, I think i can achieve this by messing with postfix access control. Will try.
